Visiting EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis took advantage of the storied setting from where they presented Greece’s national post-pandemic recovery plan, the ancient Agora in central Athens, to field questions by a selected group of assembled citizens.

Most of the questions revolved around how the plan will benefit them and the sector that they represent, as the communications teams of both leaders fully attempted to exploit the symbolism of the venue, where ancient Athenian men in good standing assembled in the main market place to debate politics and the city-state’s affairs.

Both Mitsotakis and von der Leyen answered questions beneath a brilliant Attica sky and with the Acropolis in the backdrop, shortly after detailing what the center-right government has dubbed the Greece 2.0 recovery and resilience plan.
