After a year and a half of pandemic and restrictive measures and, although we have not yet gotten rid of the coronavirus and its effects on the economy, the “nightmare” of high prices, combined with unemployment, are two problems that concern the Greek government.
Price increases in basic food categories
In this context, so far, government officials are seeking compensatory measures, which are being examined by the financial staff, in order to mitigate the impact on the consumers’ financial situation. Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to announce this package next week at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition.
Prices are expected to increase to maybe… 500 products!
Indicatively, the list of goods the prices of which are expected to increase:
- Baby milk 3%
- Evaporated milk 3%
- pasta 7% -23%.
- Feta 9%
- Greek coffee 4.5%
- Salt 5%
- Flour 4.5%
- Toilet paper 3%
- Cereals 2.5%
- Tomato products 2.5%
- Beverages 2.5%
- Juices 5% -15.5%
- Shower gels 7%
- Frozen vegetables 6%
