Greek environment and energy minister Costas Skrekas on Thursday praised the same-day announcement by the country’s privatization fund (HRADF) that ITALGAS SpA has been selected as the preferred bidder for Depa Infrastructures, which develops natural gas markets in the country.
Skrekas said the improved offer by the Italian multinational, including an upfront payment of 733 million euros, comprises a vote of confidence for Greece, and ranks as a privatization with multiple benefits for the national economy and consumers.
