Coca-Cola also used dry bulk carriers to transport 60,000 tons of material to continue production.

The lack of container vessels forced Coca Cola to turn to bulkers, and according to a post on LinkedIn by Alan Smith, Procurement Director – Global Logistics at The Coca-Cola Cross Enterprise, chartered three bulkers to transport the material, three ships equivalent with a container carrier with a capacity of 2,800 teu.

In fact, one of the three ships is the Aphrodite M a handysize of Empire Bulkers by Stamatis Molaris and the other is the Weco Lucilia C another handysize of AM Nomikos Transworld.

It is pointed out that in recent months the needs for the transport of containers internationally are not covered by the specially designed and “built” ships containerships and very recently the loaders began to consider the use of bulk carriers.
