Greek exports continued to increase on an annual basis in November 2021, rising by 47.3 percent, compared to the corresponding month in 2020, although the rise in imports was even greater, by 63.3 percent.
The country’s overall trade deficit was higher by a worrying 93.1 percent (yoy) during the same month, up from 52.8 percent in October 2021.
The figures were released on Friday by Greece’s statistics authority (EL.STAT).
Based on an analysis by the association of exporters, mined from temporary EL.STAT figures, in absolute terms exports in November 2021 increased by 1.2 billion euros (47.2 percent) and reached 3.9 billion euros, compared to 2.65 billion euros in November 2021.
The deficit reached 2.77 billion euros for the specific month, with imports totaling 6.67 billion euros, an increase of 63.3 percent (yoy).
