Greek gov’t announces more than a half million pandemic-related inspections at businesses over past 2 days

The Greek government on Friday announced that more than 150,000 inspections to verify that pandemic-related restrictions are being followed were conducted by all types of law enforcement and central government authorities in the country over the past two days, with a total of 1,193 violations verified.

Imposed fines exceeded 523.000 euros, while the closure of 17 businesses was also ordered.

Most of the violations involved failure by customers or employees to wear face masks indoors and failure to keep prescribed social distances. The second most prominent violation was failure to post, with a document or via a digital manner, the maximum number of consumers allowed within specific premises.
