Hosted on MEGA television, the president of hospital doctors union EINAP, Matina Pagoni, spoke about the developments on the coronavirus front, when we are expected to do away with masks, but also the confusion that has been created for large groups of people regarding the issuance of disease and vaccination certificates for those who get sick a second time.
“Masks will be thrown away when it’s suitable”
Commenting on the fact that the masks were done away with in Denmark, and making a prediction on when this can be done in Greece, Ms. Pagoni said that “Denmark has 90% vaccinations. 87% of those over 60 have undergone a 3rd dose. We should not compare why they did away with the masks there. The masks will be done away with when we have to, when we raise the vaccination rates where they should be. We are still at 69%. We must not revolt, countries are not compared to each other, because they have other parameters. We have 300,000 over 60 who are unvaccinated, and about as many that have to undergo the 3rd dose. We will not throw away the masks even at Easter, but we will spend a nice Easter that will not be compared to the previous ones “.
Confusion with disease & vaccination certificates remains
Mrs. Evelina Halambalaki also spoke on the show, described the problem that those who have become ill for a second time have in the issuance of a certificate of illness and vaccination.
“Initially the issue came to my knowledge from people who were ill for the second time who approached me to ask about the issuance of a disease certificate for the second time. I was sick for the second time. I was talking to public welfare service EODY and I was trying to enter the system to issue my certificates, and the system would not let me. These people want to do the 3rd dose and the system does not let them. “I am lucky – as EODY told me – and I was able to issue a disease certificate for the second time”, said Ms. Halambalaki.
“This story has reached the ministry, the authorities. The vaccination team of the ministry should solve it immediately. It’s not about one and two people. The issue concerns a lot of people. There are a lot of people who are sick for the second time. There are many who did not want to declare that they are ill”, noted Ms. Pagonif on her part.
Referring to what we must expect from now on on the front of the pandemic, Ms. Pagoni said that “We have been studying the coronavirus for two years. We see how we have to deal with it. The drugs have come out, the protocols have advanced, the new vaccines have come out, which can be used in countries that have not been vaccinated at all. They have no side effects, they are two doses, and their maintenance temperature is very simple, from 2 to 4 degrees “.
“The committee will suggest if we do the vaccinations once a year, it would be good to get a vaccine for all coronaviruses once a year, to calm everyone down,” she added.
“With the 3rd dose, the body is greatly strengthened”
“The 3rd dose is done because it provides protection with the antibodies it provides to the body, both for Omicron and its variants, and I believe that it will cover everything we have with coronavirus. For the 4th dose let us not rush, the vaccination committee will make suggestions. As for the 3rd installment we are still far behind. With the 3rd dose, the body is strengthened a lot, that is why we insist on the vaccination”, Ms. Pagoni finally explained.
