As mentioned in the relevant announcement, smotel is the last of the three projects that the Confederation has promoted in recent years (the other two are the Breakfast Basket and the Experience Tourism), which with its completion will play an important role in the transformation of the industry. small tourist accommodation. While, at the same time, it will have a significant impact on the formation of the new, modern model of Greek tourism in the post-pandemic period.

“The development of the smotel is a historic moment for the industry of small tourist accommodation, which are entering a new era, but also for the wider area of Hospitality, as it is a new, upgraded accommodation option,” said SETKE and adds: .
“The new brand name will be able to certify a tourist accommodation, regardless of category and size, provided that it will provide upgraded and specialized services and facilities to its customers, promoting the experience of Hospitality. The new category of tourist accommodation will be able to include companies in the sector, which meet specific specifications. Accommodation to be certified with the new brand name will have to provide their customers with upgraded services, such as the “Breakfast Basket” and the lower categories should provide at least one form of tourism experience.”
New proposal in accommodation
Speaking about the new brand name of SETKE, which has now been completed and is being promoted, the President of the Confederation, Mr. Panagiotis Tokouzis, emphasized that the goal is to create a new type of quality upgraded tourist accommodation, which will be consolidated in post-covid season as the new proposal in accommodation.
“If there are any constants that are consolidated in the post-covid era, it is the strong desire and mood of travelers for new, upgraded and authentic experiences, which can now be provided by smotel. The new brand name of SETKE, which is now a fact, aims to establish in the consciousness of the modern traveler a different and quality accommodation proposal, changing the image of the small tourist accommodations as we knew them until today. Our ambition is for this new accommodation model to be established in the Greek, becoming a tourism milieu and, soon, in a European context.”
