Τhe National Strategic Extroversion Plan was unveiled by the foreign ministry and Enterprise Greece on Thursday. The plan featured specific goals for every geographic region of the world and every field of business activity, with specific timetables for measurable results.

The plan foresees 669 actions worldwide – in the Western Balkans, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, North, Central and South America, Asia, African and Oceania – in areas such as bilateral and multilateral relations, exports, attracting investments and developmental cooperation.

It was presented by Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness Kostas Fragogiannis and the secretary-general and president of Enterprise Greece, Ioannis Smyrlis.

“The plan is national,” Fragogiannis underlined because, as he said, “Extroversion concerns us all, the entire country, all the productive forces, and its good results are reflected in the improvement of Greek peoples’ lives. The increased extroversion brings growth and this, obviously touches upon everyone, whether directly and indirectly.”
Referring to the results in 2021, he described them as “spectacular”, citing ELSTAT figures showing that exports had increased by 29.5 percent in 2021. “The Greek business community proved itself competitive and resilient and showed that, despite the pandemic, it was able to do business in old as well as new markets, with both the familiar products known throughout the world but also with innovative products and services”.

On the war in Ukraine, he said that this new geopolitical turbulence will have economic repercussions and that it proved the government had been right to put so much emphasis on the field of economic diplomacy.
