Unique actions highlighting sustainability, culture, wellness and environmental awareness are included in the program of events and activities announced by Lamda Development for The Ellinikon Experience Park.
The Park recently successfully hosted the 1st New European Bauhaus Festival of Greece and continues throughout the summer, with actions based on the axes of sustainability, culture, well-being and environmental awareness, while providing moments of entertainment and education.
Detailed Program and Actions
The specially designed Cell of Life space created for the Festival in Square A of the Experience Park will continue its operation, with a program of activities, in collaboration with EVZIN.LIFE, which has been configured as follows:
Cell of Life Dome: In the innovative, immersive observatory, the Cell of Life’s dome, visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to become explorers, scientists, engineers, creators and enrich the arc of life! The activities will be carried out in collaboration with NCSR DEMOKRITOS. (Days and hours of operation: Weekdays 17:00 – 21:00, Weekends 13:00 – 21:00. Monday closed. Duration until September 25).
Cell of Life Open Theater Screenings and Events: The open theater will screen a themed festival of children’s films, dedicated to the planet, sustainability and ecology, combining entertainment with education. The program includes much-loved films such as Oops Noah’s Gone, Peter Rabbit 2, Zoopolis and more, creating unforgettable summer evenings for the whole family, every weekend. Screening Days & Times: Mon/Fri: 20:45, Duration until August 28.
Cube Cell of Life: In the original “Cube” an installation with screens has been created, through which the work of unique creators from the field of photography and art will be presented throughout the summer and until the end of September. This “digital gallery” from July 19 to August 7 hosts the photographic series “Land(e)scape” by Iliana Meidani, and will be followed by exhibitions with the photos of Constantinos Toundas and works by students of the Department of Agriculture DIPA. Xplore Blue in the Cell of Life Dome and Cube: A fascinating station for the science of oceanography from Xplore blue will unfold all the modern possibilities of technology, in the exploration of the aquatic ecosystem. The action will include special seminars and presentations on sea exploration. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a unique raffle for day trips on the specially designed Xplore blue boat. Days & Hours of Operation: S/F September 17 & 18 13.00 – 21.00
Music Box at the Open Theater of Cell of Life: Young visitors will have the opportunity to participate in an original string lesson with Tjeben Klapakis. A unique musical experience that will explore the concept of Harmony in sound, but also in everyday life. Month: September
In addition, as part of The Ellinikon’s strategic collaboration with the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the cycle of cultural events “The Ellinikon Moments” continues and for the first time, artistic activities of the Athens Epidaurus Festival will be hosted at The Ellinikon Experience Park. In particular, dance lovers, on Thursday, July 28, will enjoy “The Big Cypher”, a different dance performance, curated by Ilias Hatzigeorgiou (dancer, choreographer and Festival Dance consultant), where professional hip hop & street dancers stage dance will meet in a ‘battle’, i.e. a “dance duel” which will juggle between improvisation, performance and play. Accordingly, jazz lovers will enjoy a unique musical evening on Friday, July 29, with the jazz sextet of Nikos Hatjitsakos, conducted by the well-known saxophonist and composer Dimitris Tsakas. Admission to both events will be free.
Alongside the above actions, the “Skip Social Closet”, an initiative of Skip carried out in collaboration with the organization Fabric Republic, will operate in the Park. The “Social Closet” applies the idea of the circular economy, collecting clothes that we don’t need or that don’t fit us, offering them to vulnerable groups or for reuse. The original urban aesthetic Social Wardrobe in the shape of a T-shirt of the clothing collection initiative will be in the park from mid-July and all visitors will have the opportunity to become part of this great chain of offering to people and the planet.
Visitors to The Ellinikon Experience Park, the experiential park that introduces a new, better way of life for all, as highlighted in the announcement, can combine their participation in the above with their tour of a 75-acre area with more than 700 new trees and 80,000 plants from Mediterranean varieties and to enjoy their walk in the interactive fountain, the outdoor sports area, the most exciting playground in Greece and the garden with olive trees, creating unique summer memories.
The Ellinikon Experience Park is open daily from 10:00 to 23:00 and admission is free. Access is from Vouliagmenis Avenue, very close to the Hellinikon Metro stop. For the convenience of visitors, a free parking space has been created in the Park. For the safety of visitors, the relevant procedures and recommendations established by the competent health authorities are followed.
