Covid-19 pandemic in Greece: 122,230 new infections between July 25-31; 355 related fatalities

Public health authorities in Greece on Tuesday reported 122,230 new Covid-19 infections in the last week of July 2022, with weekly statistics now given instead of daily tallies.

The figure equals 11,716 cases per one million people during the specific week, with 20 percent of the new infections classified as re-infections.

All confirmed infections since the pandemic began total 4,474,616.

Additionally, 355-related deaths were reported between July 25 and July 31, 2022, a ratio of 34 deaths per one million people.

The total number of victims from the pandemic rose to 31,377.

Of the victims, 95.8 percent had an underlying condition or were 70 years old or above.

A total of 138 Covid-19 patients were intubated on July 31. The average age is 69 years and 92.8 percent have an underlying condition or are aged 70 or over.
