The number of registered unemployed people in Greece increased last month, compared to the previous month, June 2022, but down from the corresponding month last year.
Specifically, the jobless figure was up by 2.94 percent compared to June 2022, but down by 5.32 percent when compared to July 2021.
In absolute terms, 948,930 people in Greece were registered as unemployed last month, compared to 921,647 in June 2022. The same figure for July 2021 was 1,002,261, according to the Public Employment Service.
The figure affects people registered for more than 12 months, and those registered for less than a year, 423,643 (44.95 percent).
Unemployed people receiving jobless benefits in July 2022 was 143,367.
