Retail sales volume in Greece was up by 4.4 percent in August 2022 with the majority of retail categories reporting higher sales, the country’s statistics authority announcing on Monday.
Specifically, the food-beverage-tobacco sector was up by 9 percent; pharmaceuticals-cosmetics was up by 8.5 percent; furniture-home appliances was up by 8.3 percent, fuel-lubricants 1.7 percent and supermarkets 1.1 percent.
The retail sales volume index – turnover in fixed prices – increased by 4.4 percent in August 2022, compared with the same month last year, but increased by 3 percent compared with July 2022.
