MEP Eva Kaili to remain jailed in Belgium, prosecutor decides

A prosecutor in Brussels on Thursday afternoon ordered the continued remand of Greek MEP Eva Kaili, who is at the center of an influence-peddling and bribery furor engulfing in the European Parliament.

The latter has been dubbed as “Qatar-gate” in the media, due to allegations that the Gulf state is the source of hundreds of thousands of euros in cash found in the possession of a handful of suspects.
