Pension hikes in Greece this month after more than a decade

More than 1.7 million pensioners in Greece will see an increase of 7.75 percent in their monthly social security payments, beginning this month, while another 912,000 pensioners will also receive a hike due to the abolition of the so-called «special solidarity» tax.

A total of 1.1 million pensioners will also receive a double increase in pension payments, whereas around 185,000 people will see triple increase, while one in two pensioners will see one an additional pension payment in 2023, the sum of the hikes.
