The first surprise was when he was polled for the first time in the Metron Analysis measurement for MEGA, almost three weeks before the election on May 4th.
The big surprise, however, is that, according to the final assessment of the joint exit poll, the Niki party is on the verge of entering Parliament, recording 2.5% to 3.5%, together with MeRA25, which is also moving between 2.5% and 3.5%, but also Freedom Sailing, 2.5% to 3.5%.
Of course, it is too early to draw conclusions, because the “Niki” party of the theologian Dimitris Natsios has as many chances to win its vote in the parliament, as it has to be left out.
It is important, however, that an unknown until recently party is claiming a seat in the Parliament, together with parties of prominent political figures, such as Zoi Konstantopoulou’s Plefsi Eleftherias.
“Niki” and the “block” against Kasidiaris
The “Niki” party is described as a “Democratic Patriotic Movement”, headed by Dimitris Natsios.
And it is not at all a coincidence that it was detected in a poll for the first time a few days after the exclusion of the Kasidiaris party by the Greek Supreme Court, Areopagus, but also of other parties to the right of the… Right, such as those of Emfietzoglou-Bogdanos or Latinopoulou.
As it is pointed out on the website of the “Niki” party, which has as its central slogan “With the aim of the VICTORY of Hellenism and Human Dignity” and a reference to Seferis’ verse “To miss your place, while living in your place, nothing is more bitter”, “NIKI constitutes a genuine patriotic voice that comes from ordinary Greek people, since in its ranks it does not accept as members former parliamentarians or government officials of any shade”.
It is noted at the same time that the party “is based on clear values of Romanism, without ‘right’ and ‘left’ blinders or general ‘patriotism’ of dubious moral values, keeping a distance from circles of ideas incompatible with Christian moral values”.
Who is Dimitris Natsios?
The president of the party is Dimitris Natsios and, as stated in his biography, he is a “teacher and theologian with a rich writing opus, as well as many articles”.
From his articles one can distinguish an obsession with the Cyprus issue, memorial services for the… brilliant EOKA lads, anti-communism and anti-Europeanism, attacks on the media, references to the “tortured and unbroken Hellenism”, “they with Koufontina, we with Bouboulina”, for the “vomitable pederastyin textbooks”, for the need to build “Hellenicism tutoring centers” and other similar things…
