Retail electricity providers in Greece on Friday announced mostly lower rates for the coming month, August 2023, with reductions reaching as high as 33 percent, compared with the ongoing month.

The final rate per kilowatt for households in the country for the specific month will ultimately depend on the relevant environment and energy ministry – essentially the government – and a pending decision on whether or not subsidies will be again dolled out for electricity.

Based on the announcement by providers rates in August will range from 0.08 euros per kilowatt to 0.1872 euros. Currently, for the ongoing month, rates vary from 0.0855 euros per kilowatt to 0.1990.

The announced rates include “good customer” bonuses and other promotional offers by power providers.

However, the dominant power producer and provider in the country, partially state-owned and ATHEX-listed Public Power Corp. (PPC), announced the same rates for August that are in effect this month.
