Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Monday afternoon received visiting Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky at Maximos Mansion, a closely watched and historic meeting, given that the latter’s country continues to battle an ongoing invasion by Russian forces.
As with previous such visits by Zelensky to other countries, the Ukrainian president’s visit was unannounced.
Continued meetings between Greek ministers and a delegation of their Ukrainian counterparts will follow.
The Greek premier is the host of a Western Balkans and EU member-states’ summit in Athens this week, with enlargement dominating the informal agenda.
