The inflation rate in Greece eased to 3.4 percent this month, according to figures released on Thursday by Eurostat. The same figure for the eurozone remained the same, at 5.3 percent, while increasing – on a yearly basis – in France and Germany.
According to Eurostat, the same figure for the preceding month, July 2023, was 3.5 percent, while Greece’s statistics authority calculated the rate at 2.5 percent.
Ominously, foods continued to post high inflation rates, 9.8 in August 2023, compared to 10.8 percent in July 2023.
