An operations center is being created in Larissa
By decision of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in consultation with the Region of Thessaly, an Operations Center is being created at the Region’s headquarters in Larissa, for the better coordination of all actions in Magnisia, Karditsa, Trikala, Larissa, which will be in direct cooperation and coordination, centrally , with the ESKEDIK of Civil Protection.
For this purpose, a government echelon moves to Larissa with the following work allocation:
1) Evacuation from flooded houses (National Defense Staff led by the Commander of the First Army Lieutenant General I. Tsoplo, Fire Brigade, ELAS)
2) Electricity supply networks (DEDDIE Anast. Manos)
3) Water supply network (Deputy Minister of the Interior Thedoros Livanios)
4) Transport networks (roads, trains, ports, airports) Minister of Infrastructure christos Staikouras, Deputy Minister Nikos Tachiaos)
5) Supply of cut-off areas of Magnesia, Trikala, Karditsa, with food, water, shelter (Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Christos Triandopoulos with support for temporary accommodation, from the Ministry of Tourism)
6) Access and operation of health facilities (Deputy Minister of Health Marios Themistokleous)
