The International Monetary Fund (IMF) projects 2.5-percent GDP growth for Greece this year, falling to 2 percent next year, part of its global forecasts as included in the World Economic Outlook.

The forecasts were presented during IMF’s autumn summit, which is taking place in Morocco.

On its part, the Greek government forecasts a 2.3-percent growth rate this year and 3 percent for 2024.

Additionally, the IMF forecasts the annual inflation rate in Greece to total 4.1 percent this year, easing to 2.8 percent in 2024, and down from 9.3 percent in 2022.

Unemployment is expected to stand at 10.8 percent in 2023; 9.3 percent in 2024, as compared to 12.4 percent in 2022.

Finally, the IMF forecasts the balance of trade to reach 6.9 percent of GDP for 2023, and 6 percent in 2024.
