Hellenic Public Properties Co. on Thursday announced that it has received seven expressions of interest (phase 1) for the long-term leasing of the “Akti Vouliagmeni” site in coastal southeast Athens, within the same-name municipality, considered by many as the “jewel” in the so-called Athenian Riviera.
The public sector real estate holding company is a full subsidiary of the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP), itself a memorandum obligation.
The business schemes and consortia that submitted expressions of interest are (in alphabetical order):
- AIR CANTEEN A.E.
- ATHENS BEACH CLUB S.A.
- MONTEKAVO REAL ESTATE S.A.
- THE MARGI S.A.
- Consortium: EVERGOOD S.A. Holding – Geusinous
- Consortium: REDS S.A.
- Fais Holdings S.A.
The 20-year + 10 (possible extension) concession includes the eponymous 72,700-square-meter private beach property in the Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni municipality with an option to construct 2,000 square meters in additional buildings. A former restaurant operated at the site, while the beachfront is 638.5 meters in length.
The private beach in 2024 welcomed 420,000 visitors and can accommodate 8,000 people on a daily basis.
