Italian fintech tycoon Andrea Pignataro, the founder of ION Group, is entering Lamda Development’s share capital to the tune of 2%, while also eyeing a tract of land at the latter’s Helleniko site for an investment billed at 1.5 billion euros.
The agreement is, by all accounts, a “nod” to the international appeal of the massive Helleniko property development project.
ATHEX-listed Lamda Development this week accepted ION Group’s binding offer, as the latter wants to create an international center for research and innovation within the coastal Helleniko site to host some 2,200 professionals from 44 countries.
According to the London-based company, the center will be built on two separate sites and cover building space of approximately 250,000 square meters, of which 200,000 square meters will be allocated to residential housing to host the company’s staff.
The total consideration announced was 450 million euros.
