Greek authorities have released new guidelines for the heating oil subsidy ahead of the upcoming winter season. The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has outlined the procedures for reporting heating oil purchases, which officially begin on October 15, when heating oil with reduced excise tax becomes available.
To guarantee that eligible households receive the subsidy without delays, all purchase receipts must include key information. Required details include:
- The buyer’s tax identification number (AFM)
- The fuel type and quantity (codes “30-Diesel Heating” and “31-Diesel Heating Premium”)
- The buyer’s electricity account number
Receipts must be submitted to the AADE through one of two digital methods:
- Via an Electronic Document Issuer Service Provider on the myData platform
- Through a Fiscal Electronic Mechanism (FEM) in the e-send system
For receipts submitted through myData, the “Heating Subsidy” option must be selected. The myThermansi platform allows buyers to verify their electricity account number; if successfully verified, the system returns the postal code of the supply address.
For further guidance, households can contact the AADE’s taxpayer service my1521, either by phone at 1521 during business hours (7:00–20:00) or digitally 24/7 through my1521 under Social Policy > Subsidies > Heating Subsidy – myThermansi.
