Greek authorities have completed a new round of rent rebate payments, crediting a total of €8.9 million to 39,330 eligible beneficiaries on Tuesday. The payments were made to individuals who had submitted valid bank account details (IBAN) or updated their tax declarations within the required timeframe.
According to an official announcement by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), the payments concerned beneficiaries who submitted or amended their 2024 income tax declarations between October 1 and December 12, 2025. The rent rebate amount was recalculated automatically based on updated data provided by taxpayers.
The recalculation followed a ministerial decision that introduced a special correction process, allowing beneficiaries to receive either the full amount or any additional sum they were entitled to, compared with an earlier payment made in late November.
Despite the latest disbursement, around 24,000 eligible beneficiaries remain unpaid because they have not yet provided a valid IBAN. Authorities stressed that submitting correct bank details through the official tax platform is a necessary condition for completing the payment.
For tax declarations submitted or modified between December 13 and December 30, the next rent rebate payment is scheduled for January 15, 2026.
The rent rebate is calculated based on the total annual rent paid during the 2024 tax year for primary or student housing and is processed automatically once updated tax information is confirmed.
