The Youth Pass application platform is expected to open on April 1, giving 18- and 19-year-olds Greeks access to support they can use across a range of services.
The Youth Pass is an intangible digital debit card that is issued once an application has been submitted and approved by the system. The amount is then credited through the financial institution where the beneficiary holds an account. The card remains valid for two years from the month following its issuance.
As was the case last year, this year’s application window is expected to begin on April 1.
The funds are set to be paid on May 31, although minor delays cannot be ruled out.
Eligible beneficiaries are those who turned 18 or 19 by the last day of 2025. Nineteen-year-olds who completed the process last year and already received the benefit do not need to apply again, as the funds will be credited to their accounts automatically.
Starting April 1, eligible applicants will be able to submit their applications electronically.
The digital card can be used across a broad range of sectors, provided the businesses fall under specific merchant category codes (MCCs).
Like any standard bank card, the digital card functions in designated sectors only. These include travel and transport, such as ferry, plane, train and bus tickets, as well as stays in hotels, tourist accommodation and campsites. It also covers culture and entertainment, including cinema, theatre, concert and museum tickets, book purchases, and memberships for gyms or dance schools.
The application is submitted only once. After logging into the platform, the beneficiary fills in their contact details, namely their email address and mobile phone number.
They then choose the financial institution through which the digital debit card will be issued and complete the application process for both the card’s issuance and the crediting of the amount.
