The Ionian holiday island of Corfu has emerged as an early season favorite destination this month, with flights to the isle having nearly tripled in a week.
Specifically, 18 flights landed on Corfu on Saturday, up from seven the previous Saturday, including two flights from the UK – London and Manchester.
Sixteen flights were scheduled for Sunday, most from Germany.
Meanwhile, in the southern Aegean, the port of Irakleio, the biggest on Crete, welcomed its second cruise ship arrival of the weekend, Hapag-Lloyd’s MS Europa2, which will use the same facility as its home port.
