Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met on Tuesday with tech entrepreneur John Tsioris, who co-founded the Mideast-based InstaShop and sold it last August for 305 million euros to Germany’s food delivery service Delivery Hero.
The transaction was the biggest ever paid for a Greek start-up.
“What you achieved is very impressive,” Mitsotakis said, underling his government’s volition to back the start-up ecosystem. He also praised Tsioris for “repatriating” a portion of his success back to Greece, as the latter has inaugurated business and tech research activity in Athens and Thessaloniki.
