The metro of Thessaloniki, which will be ready in 2023, according Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the press conference at the Thessaloniki International Fair.
“There is no other area, no other city in our homeland, where so many infrastructure projects are being done. I want to emphasize the consistency of the government in terms of its pre-election announcements, but also the consistency of what I had said at the first Thessaloniki International Fair, which I said as Prime Minister. The timetable for the completion of the metro is to be delivered at the end of 2023,” he said.
“As far as land use interventions are concerned, we have completed all the procedures. For example, work on the ‘Pavlos Melas’ park will begin in the coming months. The reconstruction of the coastal front is also a visionary project, and the oncology hospital is very important. Of course, there are also the stadiums of PAOK and Aris” he added.
“The 1.1 hectares located at the northeastern end of the plot, which belong to the Ministry of National Defense, will be given to the Local Government to strengthen the greenery in the area. Thessaloniki is very prosperous, it attracts investments, it is a city that promotes research and education. In Thessaloniki we have a foreign language undergraduate program in Medicine, with tuition fees of 12,000 euros. This is my vision for Thessaloniki “, concluded the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, answering a question about the projects, which are being launched in Thessaloniki and in Northern Greece in general.
