Dam project in central Greece via public-private partnership scheme, budgeted at 70mln€

A new dam project in central Greece, in the Farsala region, appears ready to be tendered via a public-private partnership scheme, with the Enipea Dam budgeted at 70 million euros.

The relevant infrastructure and transports ministry this week approved a tender for an international financial consultant for the project.

The Enipea dam, to be constructed at the Palioderli site, is designated as a strategic national project and of high priority for the wider region.

Highlights include anti-flooding for the Farsala plain, irrigation for up to 11,000 hectares, water supply for the wider region and environmental protection, especially of the water table due to the elimination of well digging.
