The Ministry of Finance has taken important initiatives in the context of reducing smuggling, a phenomenon that seriously affects the economy, entrepreneurship, but also society itself. The results of this effort are already visible, sending a strong message of zero tolerance for organized networks of illicit trade.
It is indicative that in a short period of time 13 fully equipped factories for the production of illegal cigarettes were dismantled, while at the same time dozens of arrests were made.
On the occasion of the delivery of the equipment donated by the company Papastratos to SDOE, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Apostolos Vesyropoulos stated: “From the first moment we sent a clear message. We are not going to show the slightest tolerance towards all those who endanger the economy, the viability of businesses, but also the safety of citizens. I warmly thank the Papastratos company for the new, important donation of critical technological equipment that he made “.
