The British publishing and exhibition group Informa PLC and the Shanghai Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers made an unusual move to choose June 2022 for the Marintec China Shipping Exhibition in Shanghai, and for the same month the event of the international shipping exhibition Poseidonia in Athenshad already been announced .
As it became known, Marintec China, which was to take place on December 7-10, 2021 in Shanghai, due to the restrictive measures in force in China in response to the coronavirus pandemic, was postponed, just a few days ago, to June 2022, without the announcement specifying when exactly.
This practice of Marintec does not comply with the “code of conduct” of the organizers of exhibitions, according to the representatives of Poseidonia, as it is customary for the exhibitors not to “collide” with each other. It should be noted that Marintec China, takes place in December, every two years, in the “odd” years (01, 03, 05, etc.), while the international shipping exhibition Poseidonia, takes place in Athens, at the beginning of every June, every two years (on even years, 00, 02, 04, etc.). The exhibition for 2022 is scheduled for the period 6-10 June 2022 after its cancellation due to coronavirus in 2020. In fact, the Greek organizers did not postpone the exhibition from 2020 to 2021, just so as not to “fall” on other international exhibitions but decided to bring it back in 2022 as it is its turn.
