The strong shock and grief for the sudden death of the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, was expressed, in a post on Twitter, by the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

“I am shocked and saddened by the sudden death of the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli,” the Prime Minister said in a statement. We mourn this remarkable Italian and proud European.”
