An experts’ committee on Thursday recommended an easing of a few pandemic-related restrictions in Greece, namely, a lifting on a music ban in food-and-beverage establishment.

Nevertheless, public health experts and epidimeologists on the committee recommended to the government that a restriction allowing only seated customers and operating hours concluding at midnight be retained.

Additionally, the committee recommended that fans at sports venues be allowed at 50 percent seating capacity.

In answer to press questions, and specifically one regarding the high number of daily Covid-19-related fatalities in the country – compared to the overall national population and number of infections – Alternate Health Minister Dr. Mina Gaga referred to a “multi-factor issue”.

“Of the fatalities reported yesterday (Wednesday), 80 of the victims were note vaccinated, while 27 had been vaccinated months ago, without having the third (booster vaccination),” she said.
