A latest report by the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) confirms that the Greek-flagged shipping fleet, beyond numbers, is amongst the best in terms of quality.

According to the ICS report focusing on its 117 member-states for the years 2020-2021, only 17 registries were given a perfect score, one of those being the Greek registry.

Of the 10 biggest shipping registries in the world – which represent 75 percent of the ocean-going fleet – only five were awarded “green” indicators in all assessed criteria, and with the Greek registry among the five.

The other four “flags” in the same top category were the Marshal Islands, Hong Kong, the Bahamas and Japan.

Smaller registries in terms of vessels also scoring perfect were those of Norway, Italy, France, Germany, Russia and the UK, among others.
