Greece to evacuate diplomatic staff from Kiev

Greece’s foreign ministry, in an urgent announcement on Friday, said the country’s ambassador in Kiev has requested the evacuation of all Greek diplomatic staff-members and their dependents in the Ukrainian capital, as Russian forces have now apparently reached the city’s outskirts.

The ministry added that Greek citizens who also want to leave will be evacuated overland.

Conversely, the Greek consulates in Odessa and Mariupol will remain open and staffed.
