The General Index of Industrial Production of March 2022 rose by 7.9%, compared to the corresponding index of March 2021, compared to an increase of 5.8% recorded during the corresponding comparison of 2021 with 2020.
Based on the data of Hellenic Statistical Authority – ELSTAT, the average General Index of Industrial Production for the period January – March 2022, compared to the corresponding index for the period January – March 2021, showed an increase of 4.2%.
Also, the seasonally adjusted General Index of Industrial Production for March 2022, compared to the corresponding index for February 2022, showed an increase of 5.1%.
Regarding the sectors that showed the largest percentage increase, in the first place was the electricity supply sector, while the largest decrease was recorded by the index of the electrical equipment industry, in March 2022 compared to February 2022.
In particular, the following changes were recorded on an annual basis:
The Electricity Supply Index increased by 26.8%, the Manufacturing Index by 4.3% (manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, manufacture of furniture, manufacture of clothing, printing and reproduction, pre-registered leather, manufacture of computers, electronic and optical products, production of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations.
The Water Supply Index decreased by 3.7% and the Mining – Quarrying Index by 16.4%.
