Cruises in Chania are moving in a pre-pandemic direction, as from the beginning of the season until today, cruise passengers to the area exceed 32,000.
The “Odyssey of the Seas” arrived in the port of Souda today, carrying 3,109 passengers, most of whom are visiting the old town and the Venetian Port.
At the same time, the cruise ship “Azamara”, carrying 474 passengers, has anchored off the Venetian Port.
In pre Covid rhythms
As the president of the Port Fund of the Prefecture of Chania, Dimitris Virirakis, notes in a post on social media, “the cruise in Chania has returned to pre-covid rates and so far the fullness of the ships is more than double the year 2021”.
In Chania, 13 cruise ship arrivals are expected by the end of June, while 13 arrivals are also expected for July.
