A message that the electoral law is not going to be changed was sent by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, when asked about it at the press conference, in the context of the 86th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF).
As he characteristically said, “it is true that I have accepted such suggestions, but I don’t go back on my word. The rules are not meant to be changed a few months before the elections”, pointing out at the same time that we will proceed with the electoral law that has passed, which “increases the bar of self-reliance a little to 37-38%”.
“I prefer to spend my energy on convincing citizens because in the next elections we must have a strong government”, stressed Mr. Mitsotakis and left only a “window” if SYRIZA accepts to admit that “simple proportionality is a bomb at the foundations of political stability and agree together for change.”
