
“Greece is among the top brands in the world, it is the country that the whole planet loves“, said the Minister of Tourism Vassilis Kikilias in statements, on the sidelines of the Annual Council of Presidents of the Panhellenic Federation of Hoteliers held in Thessaloniki.
Mr. Kikilias noted that 2023 will be a year with many difficulties, however, the messages he receives from international exhibitions on Greek tourism are very strong for all the country’s destinations and of course for Central Macedonia, Thessaloniki and Halkidiki.
8 out of 10 investments in the country are in the tourism sector
“We managed, in a year of multiple crises, to support through tourism the professionals of the sector, the primary sector, the shops of health interest, trade and construction as 8 out of 10 investments made in the country have to od with tourism”, said the minister, pointing out that in 2023 he will be next to hoteliers and professionals, especially those whose businesses are in the mountainous areas of the country and are most affected by the energy crisis.
In the afternoon, Mr. Kikilias will participate in an event on the topic “Greek Tourism with an eye to 2023” and in the evening he will inaugurate the 37th International Tourism Exhibition PHILOXENIA.
