Α new report by SolarPower Europe this week regarding the installation and capacity of photovoltaic systems in the EU-27 – for 2023-2026 – shows Greece in a future seventh place.

Specifically, 10.4 GW (with the median scenario) of production from solar energy is expected to be installed in the country, with the highest assessment being as high as 14.5 GW.

The east Mediterranean country is in ninth place today in the EU, with 1.4 GW installed today.

The photovoltaic market in Greece increased this year by 62 percent, compared to 2021, when the figure stood at 1.4 GW.

According to the report, 2022 was the best-ever year for solar energy in the Greek market.
