Hellenic Aerospace Industries signs MoC with 4 universities for design, production of new drone

Hellenic Aerospace Industries (HAI) and four universities in Greece on Thursday signed a MoC for the design and assembly-line production of a second Greek-made multi-task drone, including for combat use.

The signing was attended by the relevant finance and national defense minister.

The new program is called “gryphon”, the Greek name for the mythical griffin.

Greece’s finance ministry is the primary shareholder in HAI, the country’s pre-eminent aviation defense contractor.

The four tertiary institutions participating in the program are the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Patras, Democritus University and the University of Thessaly.
