Another shipwreck with migrants took place in the Aegean, this time off Lesvos.
According to information, a major rescue operation is underway in the “Provoskida” sea area, east of Lesvos.
As reported by the local website stonisi.gr, the tally of the wreck so far is two dead, an unknown number of missing and 16 rescued.
“The sea is full of people”
According to the same source citing testimonies “the sea is littered with people”.
The passage of this particular boat was undertaken in freezing conditions and strong waves in the area, with gusts of eight Beaufort, locally.
