
The Ministry of Rural Development and Food is proceeding with the inclusion of 17 irrigation projects, with a total budget of 28,125,793 euros, in the Rural Development Program in Thessaly.
In a related meeting held in Larissa, the Regional Governor of Thessaly, Kostas Agorastos, with the General Secretary for Community Resources and Infrastructure of the Ministry, Dimitris Papagiannidis, discussed the prospect of including other important irrigation projects in the Rural Development Program (RDP).
The progress of the works
Mr. Agorastos informed Mr. Papagiannidis that the irrigation network of Karla is progressing normally and the contractor has been installed, while the inclusion of irrigation projects of TOEB Tausanis in the Leader program was agreed.
The Ampelakia, Agiokampo-Livadotopo dams and the Trikala irrigation networks have been auctioned and the contractors of the projects are expected.
In addition, the inclusion of large irrigation projects in the new RDP was discussed, such as the dams of Belma Agia, Delerion Tyrnavos, Neochoritis Trikala, while efforts are being made to include the Titanes dam as well.
The Skopia Farsala and Yperia Farsala-Orphana Karditsa dams and the irrigation networks of Tavropos are implemented through PPP.
Through the Ministry of Infrastructure, the study for the closed circuit of Smokovos is being completed.
At the meeting, financing methods for the maintenance-management of dams, such as Gyrtoni, Megas River, etc., were examined.
“We are continuing the effort to include more irrigation projects in co-financed programs of the HYPAAT, with the aim of reducing irrigation costs for our producers, rational water management and ensuring the required water quality. Projects
The 17 new irrigation projects in Thessaly that are progressing to be included in the RDP are as follows:
- Installation of a photovoltaic power plant operated by Local works project coordinator-TOEB Gomfoi, with a budget of 806,000 euros
- Construction of underground irrigation pipelines TOEB Damasio, budget 1,300,000 euros
- Modernization – undergrounding of the irrigation network of the real estate district of Tyrnavos, budget 1,553,000 euros
- Integrated irrigation energy optimization system of TOEB Enipea Farsala, budget 2,077,694 euros
- Modernization of irrigation networks in T.K. Vasiliki P.E. Trikala, with a budget of 2,100,000 euros
- Modernization and upgrading of electromechanical irrigation facilities under the responsibility of TOEB Pinios, budget 2,194,428 euros
- Upgrade of existing irrigation system infrastructure with the development of an integrated remote management system – telemetry and irrigation rationalization in the Municipality of Karditsa, budget 2,197,683 euros
- Improvement and expansion of irrigation networks of the Municipality of Limni Plastira, budget 348,000 euros
- Cultivation of springs of Agios Georgios Municipality of Lake Plastira/irrigation network, budget 1,295. 241 euros
- Utilization of Renewable Energy Sources (RES- Photovoltaics) to improve the energy autonomy of the irrigation facilities of the Municipality of Agia, budget 913,731 euros
- Utilization of modern systems of quantitative and energy management and control of irrigation facilities of the Municipality of Agia, budget 2,199,760 euros
- Supply and installation of equipment to improve energy efficiency and save energy in the irrigation networks of the Municipality of Killeler, budget 2,199,760 eurosUpgrade – improvement of energy efficiency of DEVAL irrigation wells IT equipment, budget 1,419,800 euros
- Energy efficiency improvement of the irrigation infrastructure of the Municipality of Farsala, budget 1,759,546 euros
- System of modernization, water saving and energy upgrade of irrigation facilities of the Municipality of Almyros, budget 2,192,320 euros
- Improvement of the irrigation network in the Municipality of Meteora, budget 1,380,000 euros
- Improvement of existing ground improvement infrastructure with the development of an integrated remote management – telemetry system to increase energy efficiency in the Municipality of Farkadona, budget 2,188,848 euros, while supporting documents were requested for the remaining projects to be included.
