The unemployment rate in Greece fell to 10.9 percent of the workforce in March 2023, down from 11.3 percent in the previous month, February 2023, and 12.7 percent, compared to the same month in 2022, Hellenic Statistical Authority announced on Wednesday.
Specifically, the number of unemployed people reached nearly 509,000, down by 100,395 from March 2022 (a decrease of 16.5 percent) and down by 14,096 from February 2023 (-2.7 percent). The unemployment rate among women was 14.5 percent, compared to 16.8 percent in March 2022.
The unemployment rate for the 15-24 age group fell to 24.2 percent, down from 28.9 percent in 2022.
The number of employed people was just above 4,166,000, marginally down by 0.1 percent from March 2022 but up by 1.4 percent compared to February 2023.
