For businesses in the Accommodation sector (branch 55 of the NACE Rev. 2 classification), with an obligation for double-entry book keeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in May 2023 amounted to 675,747,929 euros, marking an increase of 18 .9% compared to May 2022, where it had risen to 568,104,609 euros.
For businesses in the Food Services industry (industry 56 of the NACE Rev. 2 classification), with an obligation for double-entry book keeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in May 2023 amounted to 206,560,318 euros, marking an increase 7.6% compared to May 2022, where it had risen to 192,021,878 euros.

Cumulatively for the businesses in the sectors of Accommodation and Food Services (sectors 55 and 56 of the NACE Rev. 2 classification), with the obligation for double-entry book keeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in May 2023 amounted to 882,308 .247 euros, marking an increase of 16.1% compared to May 2022, where it had risen to 760,126,487 euros. For the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2022 greater than 1.0%, the largest increase in turnover in May 2023 compared to May 2022 was observed in the Regional Unit of Halkidiki (39.8%) and the smallest increase ( 5.0%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Achaia.
