Registered unemployment in Greece reached almost 906,000 in July 2023, down 4.6 percent compared with the corresponding month in 2022 and up by nearly 40,000 (4.5 percent) compared to June, the state-affiliated Public Employment Service (DYPA) announced on Friday.
Specifically, of the 905,444 unemployed the number seeking active employment was 914,706 in June 2022, of whom 503,272 (55.6 percent) are considered as long-tern unemployed.
The number of registered unemployed who received jobless benefits in July 2023 totaled 127,135.
