The amount of 135.6 million euros will be allocated by the Ministry of Labor and state HR agency DYPA for the employment of 21,500 long-term unemployed between the ages of 55 and 74.
These unemployed people will be employed in the public sector in order to supplement the necessary insurance for their retirement benefits.
The beneficiaries
As stated in a recent ministerial decision, the aim of the program is to create a total of 21,500 new full-time jobs, for the employment of unemployed people aged 55 to 67 years, as well as unemployed people over 67 years old and up to 74 years old who have not completed the required retirement age to establish a pension right.
The program is addressed to public sector bodies, to all types of Legal Entities under Public Law, first and second grade OTAs, Decentralized Administrations, decentralized Services, etc.
Beneficiaries must be Greek citizens, citizens of EU member states, Northern Epirotians, expatriates and expatriates coming from Istanbul and from the islands of Imvros and Tenedos, without requiring a certificate of Greek citizenship, provided that their status as Greek by birth and conscience is proven in other ways.
Pension rights
Especially for the unemployed over the age of sixty-seven (67) and up to seventy-four (74), it is possible to join the program, as long as they have not completed the required pensionable time to establish full pension rights, in accordance with current legislation.
The conditions
A necessary condition is the presentation of a responsible declaration of the unemployed person before his nomination, regarding the non-establishment of a full pension rights and non-submission of an application for receiving a pension due to old age. If the beneficiary during the program submits a request for retirement to e-EFKA social security system or if he retires, the subsidy for that particular beneficiary is stopped from the date of his application to e-EFKA, as he ceases to have the characteristics of the special category of beneficiary with which he was indicated and was hired.
Submitting an application
The process of submitting the electronic application is carried out by the interested parties, either through gov.gr using the TAXIS codes, or using the access codes (Username and Password), as certified users of the electronic services of the DYPA web portal.
The potential beneficiaries must have issued the relevant credit commitment decisions for the years in which they intend to employ the beneficiaries.
In the approval decision, the exact number of persons for whom the beneficiary applies and is entitled to a grant is determined, according to the details of the affiliation application submitted by the beneficiary, such as e.g. the requested number of people (new jobs), within the aid scheme and will be sent by e-mail to the beneficiary company.
