Representatives of the French firms active in the energy sector in Greece met with the Minister of Environment and Energy, Costas Skrekas.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of France to Greece, Patrick Maisonnave and the President of the Hellenic-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Laurent Thuillier.
Investments in RES
During the discussions, emphasis was placed on the significant presence of French energy companies, their activities as well as their investment plans in Greece.
The representatives of the French companies expressed their support for the ambitious goals of the Greek government in the field of Renewable Energy Sources (wind and photovoltaic energy), while Mr. Skrekas referred to the procedural obstacles for projects that will be overcome by the new law.
The companies AKUO ENERGY GREECE, EDF Renewables Hellas, ELPEDISON, EREN HELLAS, VALOREM, VOLTALIA GREECE participated in the meeting. Half of the firms have been established in Greece since the 2000s, while the rest since 2019. Their investments in Greece exceed 2.5 million euros.
