The latest opinion poll by the Pulse firm confirms a continuing lead by incumbent Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the question of who is better suited to manage problems faced by the country.
Another result is that a near majority of respondents (47 percent) want elections in 2023, at the end of the current four-year period, and not a snap election.
Regardless of their personal preference, 57 percent of respondents believe ruling New Democracy (ND) will win the next election; 26 percent believe main opposition SYRIZA will come in first-past-the-post.
On the all-important voter preference question, ND maintains an eight-percentage point lead over leftist SYRIZA.
Based on an extrapolation of the valid responses, right-center ND is given 34 percent; 26 percent for SYRIZA, while the resurgent PASOK-KINAL party remains in double-digit territory, pooling 13 percent.
